So very very cold. People didn’t think I should be taking space in the lodge to paint. Lots of animosity from people who wanted a break. My dad sits on the chairlift in this painting
Four points
Sunny lovely day. Hardest point of this was the people coming and going and the changing position of the sun. Clearly a longer break than 1 hour. Sunburn? Windburn? Dry skin.
Not a Ski Hill
Mild fear of falling icicles, fading light.
Traverse
I spent most hours on this one. This is from the ski patrol lodge. They let me in and I got to stand in the window and paint. Standing was the hardest. So feet bones. Getting in was a lesson in bravado.
Wagner Park
Sat in a park bench. People were smoking all around, nurses on break I think. Hurt my lungs, my asthma. Such a lovely park, so many poisons.
Spike’s Hill
First Skiing watercolor. The boots, the equipment, the gloves never being warm enough. It all kept me from being as successful as I wanted.
McIntyre
Gravel was hard. Mud. Dead rotting animal on trail.
Strawberry Park
Winding poorly maintained road to get there, no electricity, icy. Muddy upon arrival. Slippery rocks, but a massage at the end that left me feeling warm and soft.
Buddy’s Run
We all shared a shot on this slope in memory of Tom.
Bridge
Insects bite me and my skin reacts more than others. People using motorized vehicles on a rail trail that prohibits it. I’ve even see cops do it. Dogs were also off leash, both things terrifying when one cannot run or handle if a dog jumps on you. I’ve been attacked by dogs in parks/trails before.
